If you think about it, all popular American foods like pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, apple pie, came from other countries. They were introduced to the USA by colonists, settlers and immigrants. It all started in the early 1600s when early European settlers began adapting their recipes to use the local American ingredients such as corn, beans and squash. In exploring USA, we have split USA into 2 regions – USA North and USA South. USA North focuses on northeast regions which are highly influenced by the Italian, German, Irish and other European cuisines. USA South focuses on southern cooking.
In our explore USA-North box, we introduce families and kids to basic information of the country and to one of the biggest celebrations in the USA popularized by Irish-Americans in the 19th century, St. Patrick’s Day.
