Explore Italy Cooking Kit
Italian food is "twice blessed, because it is the product of two arts - the art of cooking and the art of eating". Family plays a central role in Italian traditions, and a large family meal is still customary in many Italian households.
In our explore Italy box, we introduce families and kids to basic information about the country and to the different courses of traditional Italian meal. Including in the box are 3 popular recipes.
Includes Three Delicious Recipes
“Cotoletta alla Milanese” is one of Milan’s signature dishes - easy to prepare and simply delicious! It was first described in a document in 1148, which is still preserved in the Basilica of Saint Ambrose in Milan. Kids will have fun setting up the breading station with bowls of flour, egg wash and breadcrumbs then dipping the thinly sliced/pounded cutlets into each station.
Nothing tastes better than a hearty dish of meatballs and spaghetti with quick, home-made marinara sauce! Our recipe broils the meatballs instead of frying them, so you have a much tidier dish to prepare on a busy weeknight. Serve alongside lemony Caesar salad.
This is not a traditional Italian dish, but it has become a ubiquitous Italian-American dish served in virtually all Italian restaurants! It is cooked in a French culinary way, but could not be made without the Sicilian Marsala wine!
